Whenever a political crisis hits our nation, I immediately think of Kellie, my liberal friend in Seattle with whom I founded the Heart Perception Project after the tumultuous presidential election in 2016. I wonder what she’s thinking, and I wonder if we might be able to have a heart-centered conversation about it, unlike the rest of our unfettered media role models.
When the Kavanaugh crisis hit, it hit hard. Vitriol spewed from mouths on both sides. Kellie and I decided it was time. Time to have a real conversation, un-laden with accusations, but instead laden with curious questions and empathy.
We believe it’s the best way to make space for connection in a world torn apart.
